Kristen earned her Master’s in Counseling in 2007 from UNCW and has been practicing in Wilmington for 15 years. She works with children, adolescents and adults using a wide range of therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
She works with clients who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and self-injury as well as transitional life changes, substance use and relational issues. She tends to focus more on the “here and now” and in finding solutions. She believes in the importance of not just talking about feelings, but also in taking action.

Dr. Martinez earned her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and focused her training on young children, adolescents, and young adults.
Dr. Martinez has individual and family therapy and psychological evaluation training experience in both public and private schools, community and private outpatient settings, and inpatient hospital settings. She conducts psychological testing with children as young as age two through young adults with various referral concerns such as identification of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disorders and other concerns of cognitive functioning, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, and other aspects of social, emotional, and behavioral development.
Dr. Martinez engages in therapy with children, adolescents, and caregivers with various concerns such as anxiety, depression, relational conflicts, difficulty coping with life changes such as divorce, parenting, questions of identity, and overall concerns of social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. She personalizes her therapeutic approach depending on the reasons for intervention.
In both therapy and assessment, Dr. Martinez prioritizes a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approach so as not to misdiagnose experiences that may overlap with symptoms of mental health disorders.

She has worked in both facility-based inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Adrianne worked for four years in an organization supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Adrianne is also a Family Centered Treatment certified clinician.
Adrianne believes that individuals have the power to uncover where they feel stuck and can resolve most barriers to living more satisfying lives during difficult times with the right guidance and support. Her approach to therapy is warm and interactive. She strives to create an environment where issues can be explored safely and respectfully. She helps clients become more aware of patterns which hold them back from realizing their true potential. Robert has been practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for 15 years. He specializes in providing psychiatric medication and therapeutic intervention for a variety of Mental Health Conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, mood disorders, substance abuse disorders (SUD), ADHD, PTSD and many others. Robert served in The United States Navy for 29 years caring for active duty military personnel and their dependents. He is currently providing psychiatric care for ages 13 years and older. Robert has years of experience in tele-psychiatry, crisis intervention and outpatient / inpatient setting s for a variety of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.
